Between Google, self-help books and (my favourite) unsolicited advice from friends and family, it seems like everyone has something to say about motherhood – much of it vague and contradictory.

So, instead of exuding joy and confidence (like so many Instagram moms seem to be), you feel guilty, shameful and completely unprepared for motherhood.

You can do this

First of all, let’s clear this up right now:
You have what it takes. Not only to raise a healthy, happy baby – but to truly shine in your role as a mother.

You don’t need more people telling you what to do, putting still more pressure on you to be a ‘good mom’. All you need is a little guidance – not just from someone who’s been there before – but from an unbiased source with professional mental health training.

"Thanks Marissa. I'll definitely sit back and think about my thoughts and feelings in a different way" - Tara, a more confident mama

How do I know you have what it takes?

Because I’ve been right where you are.

As a new mom, I was:

  • Confused and irritated by both the lack and surplus of information out there
  • Discouraged at the thought that I was already failing as a mom
  • Doubtful that I possessed the strength or will to do anything about it

But, day by day, little by little, as I struggled my way through, I realized – I was doing it. I was stumbling, but I was succeeding. In that daily struggle, I felt very alone – until I realized other mothers felt exactly the same as me.

So, I decided to do something about it because no mother should have to feel this way, day in and day out.
